CAMP METAL CLAY COURSE B101
Project X Base Metals

In this two-day course, students will learn all of the fundamental skills required to work with Project X base metal clays and be successful with five formulations of base metal clay products.

Students will practice construction techniques including sculpting, molding, and refining and more. Extra time is devoted to discuss firing processes to achieve successful sintering as well as finishing techniques, repairing options, shrinkage considerations, and patina.

 

Students will make four projects including a Shield Bracelet, a White Bronze Pendant with CZ, a Double-Sided Pendant combining two base metal clays in one project, and a Sculpted Flower Pendant. 

 

Students receive kits including clay. Students also receive firable stones, beads, embeddable findings and have use of all materials and tools to complete the projects.

Upon completion of the projects and lecture time, students will take a short written test. Each student will receive a Certificate of Completion from Sawtooth School for Visual Art and an 8% discount on clays at Clay Revolution and participating suppliers.
