Brenda Branson grew up in eastern North Carolina. She began making and selling various styles of handmade jewelry which often feature a variety of techniques enhanced by her own handmade components.  She works with silver, bronze and copper metal clays, and often combines them with the art of traditional metal smith techniques, kumihimo braiding, or special accents such as glass scrap, fine gemstones and 100% compressed cotton pearls. While she loves making jewelry, her real passion lies in the combination of the various art techniques to create a unique design. Her thrill is when that special piece just happens, with that special harmony that makes it “art.”

Brenda has been working with metal clay since 2004 and is certified in PMC, Prometheus Clays, and Five Star Metal Clays. She has traveled from Florida to Arizona to study with some of the most renown metal clay artists in the US, UK and Russia.  Her ever evolving style is founded on this rich and eclectic exposure to the masters and the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in the basic skills.

Brenda has shared her knowledge and skills through classes and workshops in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Arizona.  She teaches at the Island Art Gallery in Pawley’s Island, SC, the  Cheraw Arts Community Craft Room in Cheraw, SC and on occasion in her home studio.

Her work has been featured in publications, advertisements, and on product packaging.   MSB Designs’ jewelry is sold in local art galleries and gift shops as well as online.
