My path as a jewelry artist wasn’t a direct one. I decided to give up my career as an engineer to stay home with my kids. Although this was the right decision, I really needed something to do for myself which led me to jewelry. I have always loved jewelry, so it was a natural path for me. I dabbled in several mediums and lampworking. After taking an introductory class at the Bead & Button show in Milwaukee in metal clay with Donna Penoyer I was hooked.
I took several classes with well-known artists such as Holly Gage, Hadar Jacobson, Anna Mazon and others. I then went through with the certification program through Artclay. For the past 15 years I have been working in and teaching metal clay in central Indiana.
I have continued my education in traditional jewelry making while attending Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts and The New Approach Jewelry School. These skills combined with my metal clay skills allow for a wide variety of applications. I love to combine all my skills to create unique pieces for my customers.
My jewelry pieces have been featured at award shows and on television shows. My preference is working with customers independently on custom pieces.
I live in Martinsville, IN and own a small retail shop. My studio and classroom are on the upper floor of the building. We are a small rural town situated between Indianapolis and Bloomington which allows for easy access to bigger city amenities.
