Nancy Miller has been handcrafting uniquely textured wearable art jewelry in her Saratoga Springs studio near the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York since 1993.

After completing a series of jewelry fabrication classes through the local community college, she took traditional technique workshops from Tim McCreight and John Cogswell.  She then began exploring metal clay and has enjoyed utilizing a wide variety of metal clays and metal clay techniques.  She attended all 6 PMC Conferences and was an invited presenter one year.  She also attended 3 Metal Clay MOJO conferences.  Metal clay workshops attended include those by Celie Fago, Chris Darway, J. Fred Woell, Barbara Becker Simon, Robert Dancik, Hadar Jacobson, Terry Kovalcik, Linda Kaye Moses and Cindy Silas.  Her work was included in Contemporary Metal Clay Rings by Hattie Sanderson.

Nancy completed the Rio Rewards PMC Certification course in 2001 and has taught metal clay techniques since then.  She believes that anyone can take the beginning steps that will lead to making jewelry that they will love. She frequently teaches classes at her Saratoga Springs, NY studio and other locations.  She is passionate about metal clay jewelry making and appreciates the sharing nature of metal clay artists.

In 2004 Nancy developed and continues to coordinate an entirely volunteer summertime jewelry program for seriously ill children at the Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch, one of the camps cofounded by Paul Newman and Charles Wood.

Her personal studio is filled with metal clays, beads, wires, sheet metals, tools and odd bits of collected items that could find their way into jewelry designs or be used during the creative process.  She seeks to always expand her repertoire of jewelry making techniques to keep her designs fresh and new.
