Cathy Flesher began her journey as an artist and handmade jewelry designer in the early 2000s bringing her travel and nature-inspired designs and innovative teaching perspective to Tucson, her home since 2016. She was recently featured as an emerging new artist by Voyage Phoenix magazine.
Cathy is multi-talented with self-taught expertise across a broad array of areas, including metal clay, beadwork, wirework, hand knotting, stone setting, soldering, enameling, and glass. This well-rounded understanding of what’s possible serves her well as a teacher. Her style is engaging, practical, and generous. She can break down challenging concepts into easily digestible parts and techniques for her students, allowing them to work to their own pace and capabilities. For the past three years, her focus has been on innovation with metal clay and she is a metal clay certified instructor. Cathy was named Director of Camp Metal Clay in 2024.
She offers private instruction from her zen studio high in the Catalina Foothills and offers custom group workshops throughout the United States.
